PROSPEX ALPINIST
A new Prospex creation celebrates Seiko’s 145th anniversary in Edo purple, reflecting an evolving aesthetic shaped by Tokyo’s heritage.
In the third series of commemorative limited-edition watches celebrating Seiko’s 145th anniversary, “Edo purple” serves as a central design element. This color reflects traditions passed on from ancient Edo to modern-day Tokyo and the spirit of creativity that has kept Japan’s largest city evolving into the present day.
This model’s dial color is inspired by “Edo purple,” a hue that embodies the aesthetic sensibilities of Edo period Tokyo and represents a cultural heritage to be passed on to future generations.
The modern Alpinist embodies the spirit of Seiko’s first sports watch, the Laurel Alpinist, which was born in 1959. With features designed for outdoor use and an added touch of playful elegance, the Alpinist has evolved with the times into a classic sports watch for every occasion.
