This stunning Limited Edition has been created in partnership with Tomioka Silk Promotion Organization whose purpose is protecting and preserving the sericulture industry in the Tomioka region, where the Tomioka Silk Mill World Heritage Site is located. Available only in a controlled production run of 2,000 pieces with the serial number engraved on each caseback, the design features a curved pure white “shironeri” dial that employs a dramatic wave pattern and a pearl-painted finish, capturing the delicate texture and translucency of “Gunma-Hoso” a specialty silk that is known to be exceptionally shiny, supple, and strong. Visible through the screwdown, see-through caseback, Seiko’s 6R caliber, 24-jewel automatic movement beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, with an outstanding power reserve of 72 hours, and manual winding capability. Crafted of stainless steel with a rose-gold finish and topped with a dual curved sapphire crystal, the 38mm case reflects smooth curved surfaces and is paired with a sophisticated brown leather strap, sourced from an LWG-certified tannery.
